Summer brings out such a beautiful side of Sonoma County! While the hillsides start to turn golden, the flowers come alive! Blooms are everywhere from the country roadsides to the manicured wineries! This time of year is the best time to take advantage of everything our local Flower farms have to offer. We have so many amazing farmers here in Sonoma County that is hard to choose! But here are a few of my favorites. 

Garden Valley Ranch is owned by the sweetest Venue owner in the business! Jessica and her adorable family take meticulous care of their 5 acre rose garden. Not only are the gardens beautiful but it is also a romantic and charming wedding venue! Big lawns, secret gardens, and victorian architecture are just a few of the reasons this property is a favorite! The best part, the huge variety of roses! 360' views of beautiful blooms. Even when its not peak bloom season the gardens still create a perfect location. Not too far off the beaten path this farm offers a unique backdrop to any Portrait Sessions.

Just outside of Sebastopol on a little country road you will find one of Sonoma County newest flower gardens Poppies and Petals. This farm gives you the unique opportunity to cut your own flowers! Come frolic through rows of different flowers and foliage with a vase and shears to create your very own bouquet. Owner/ farmer Stephanie is an absolute joy to work with and her excitement about how flowers make people feel is contagious. She is constantly planting so the variety of flowers blooming always a little different which makes this a great portrait backdrop. It also allows her to offer a variety of workshops taught by various artist. 

If you love rows and rows of stunning blooms, do not miss peak season at The Happy Dahlia Farm. Nestled in the Petaluma Valley this specialized farm offers a huge variety of Dahlias, in all stages from tubers to blooms! Sound baths and moon ceremonies are just a few types of events that you can attend here as well as live music on Sundays and a picnic area for you to enjoy. Before you head home you can purchase fresh cut blooms by the bucket! Everything about the farm says "take my picture here" making it a favorite among Seniors!
